					<title>Cottrell, Mitcheldean</title>
					<link>http://gloshirebuses.fotopic.net/c252106.html</link>
<description>Edgar Cottrell, boss of the long-standing family bus company, Cottrell's of Mitcheldean (in Gloucestershire), announced the cessation of his family's stage carriage services from the end of August 2004. The services had their origins in the 1880s.
The firm continues to operate its fleet of coaches, school bus operations and its weekly stage service to Ross-on-Wye.
Stagecoach has replaced the bus services, which run from Ruardean to Gloucester via Longhope, and the former Red &amp; White/Stagecoach route from Cinderford to Gloucester.
For many years, Cottrell's ran in friendly competition with Red &amp; White and later National Welsh, which it saw off in Stagecoach's early days.</description>
